BIO:
Ahmed Al‑Saeed is an analog photographer and darkroom printer based in Riyadh. He works with film, silver‑gelatin printing, and alternative processes such as Gum Bichromate and Carbon Printing. His work focuses on quiet moments, subtle light, and the emotional dialogue between place and memory. Ahmed develops and prints all his photographs by hand, treating the darkroom as a space where light becomes physical and tactile. He has participated in several local exhibitions and teaches analog photography, film development, and traditional printing techniques
ARTIST STATEMENT:
"I do not capture the scene as it is, but as I feel it. To me, nature is not a subject, but a long dialogue between myself and the place, the flickering light, and the moment that chooses to be seen. My work balances the intuition of the photographer chasing the moment and the patience of the printer reshaping it in the darkness, layer by layer, until it finally breathes on paper. I create my images slowly, for slowness is the only way to capture truth. I print by hand because touch gives the image its final soul.
